Physical Literacy

Physical literacy can be described as the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding to value and take responsibility for engagement in physical activities for life    –   (Whitehead, 2014)

Using the LTAD model espoused by Istvan Balyi, we have had the pleasure of challenging and supporting pupils by developing their all-round fitness in line with the sensitive periods encountered as children mature.

Alongside this  we recognise that a child’s social and emotional development  often does not run in line with the physical maturity they sometimes show. We are mindful of this and will often offer activities that continue to engage at a level the children feel happy about.

Pupils attending NewGenFit not only have great fun, but will become faster, stronger, more powerful and better co-ordinated. The results we have had over many years, in terms of engagement and performance are super.
